This is a sample of how my ideal apartment will look like. just a sliding door or a partition seperating the bedroom from the main segment of the house. I think i won't be fussy and take the room just as it is...just need to add a stove for cooking and a toilet...then this place would be perfect. a small kitchen, a study table next to the flat-screen tv. a 2-seater sofa and a side table to do my work. a built in wardrobe and a bed and a dressing table.
Looks perfect. Nice parquet flooring. clean cut and simple. beige and white. just need a few pictures, a few plants to make it look lived in. :)
I think i'd be happy living alone. Perhaps the occasional visit from family and friends.
Afterall, my "Personal DNA" test (see previous entry) said that "You value time to yourself and understand how rich your private world can be—you know that you don't have to go wild to have a good time. " and "You value spending time alone—it is while reflecting on the world around you that you often learn something new about yourself or begin to understand something that's been bothering you. "
Em always say that I'm someone who can be perfectly happy being alone. In fact, the reason why she always strives to irritate me (hee) is so as to get a response from me. If not, I'd be totally in my own world, at my own side of the cubicle, doing my own stuff.
I seriously don't understand how people can be bored being alone.
There's always so much for me to do. Reading itself requires solitude time and a nice quiet conducive environment. I can't read anywhere and everywhere. It needs to be the right place.
sigh....
Singapore should rent similar tiny apartments to independent singles, who have yet to reach the age to be able purchase a HDB flat and who do not have the finanicial capability to purchase a condo unit .... else we'd keep having these young adults, like myself, living with our parents.
I mean, if the government is gonna keep going on about the high number of young singles, and encouraging all these SDU-like social activities, worrying that the young Singaporean adults of today are becoming too independent to want to set up a family... the solution is so simple. Make independent living for young singles accessible & affordable!
It is any wonder that women always complain that Singaporean men CMI ? It's coz they simply can't take care of themselves. They can't do housework, can't cook, can't iron, can't wash, all just dependent on their mothers/maids to take care of them. Make housing accessible to these young men, and THEN they will learn to live by themselves, and THEN they would be more qualified potential husband-material.
And
Having an apartment by ourselves will undoubtedly increase our social life. Imagine the freedom.
Having an apartment will make us adults. Imagine the bills.
Having an apartment will make us responsible. Imagine the housework.
There i go once again, desiring a little place to call my own. =)
oh when oh when will that dream come true?
psst... jie quick find a house..and give up ur apartment to me leh. heh.
