suffering from PBS

PBS - a term my colleagues use whenever its that time of the term for me. The symtoms are similar to PMS, but the cause is different. PBS (Pre-Blaze Syndrome) is caused due to the preparation work leading up to the student camps (named "Blaze").

No matter how many times I've done Blaze, and how early i start preparation, it'd somehow be this crazy mad rush the weeks prior to the camps. This time round, the problems are amplified. 3 camps. All different teams. Liasing with different people. Different expectations. Constant changes. Lots of delays. I hate it when i have to change decisions, coz it would entail me calling up the vendor and requesting this and that. I feel damn bad for the vendor, and I feel so embarrassed to be requesting so many special favours from them, and worse still, keep asking them to make changes.

This week has been rush rush rush. Having to settle Blaze matters while away on my course. Having to travel back to work after my course at night to settle some paper work. Taking work home to do. Today was bad. I didn't even have time to catch my breath. Preparation for briefing, tidying up students' registration and forms, settling logistic matters, discussing about selection of vendor, meeting students for pre-camp briefing, department meeting all the way til end of the day. I couldn't sit through the whole meeting, coz i had so much camp matters to settle.

Thank God I have colleagues who could help me out a bit in sorting out some logistical issues for the camp briefing with the students this afternoon. I had colleagues who were nice enough to get me lunch (which i gobbled down in 15 mins coz I had to go for another meeting).

Okie, I just needed to rant.

*breathe in, breathe out*

Don't worry girl, I think you are managing PBS better as you get more experienced. This time, I could even see you smile and joke!
