Last friday, my dad picked me up from work (note: we got a car to use for 2 weeks coz my uncle and his family are out of town!! :) ), and after picking my mum, we drove around in search of good food. Mum wanted to check out Whampoa Food Centre, but it was under renovation. Dad suggested looking for Nasi Briyani at Little India, but there were no parking space. So we ended up at Chin Chin Chicken Rice Stall, my sister's fav eating place.
Yum. We had chicken, chicken rice (duh), hainanese pork chop, mutton soup and some hainanese vegetable with dried cuttle fish dish.
After dinner, we had about an hour to kill before A Crazy Christmas, so we went shopping at Bugis Junction. Basically, I was shopping, mum was giving her comments and dad was just standing around. :P
A Crazy Christmas was fantabulous !! Starring local theatre stars such as Selena Tan, Pam Oei, Emma Yong, Sebastian Tan, Denise Tan, Tan Kheng Hua, Lim Yu Beng, Robin Goh, John Lee, Lim Kay Siu and Hossan Leong, what else can it be but a bag of laughs and superb music!
My fav has to be
1. The opening number. The Twelve Days of Christmas. OMG. the accapella arrangement and the flawless delivery by the singers were breath-taking. "Great" is just an understatement.
2. Hossan Leong's song which was really beautiful. Of coz he was damn funny too.
3. Tan Kheng Hua's crystal-clear voice. Simply Amazing.
4. Sebastian Tan's act as Rudolph in hokkien, complaining about the "si pui kia" (sorry, my hokkien knowledge is limited) aka Santa Claus.
5. Pam Oei's interjection of the "Rain" medley with her "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"... haha. hilarious!
6. John Lee's "Katong" song. I've never seen or heard of John Lee before, but he's pretty amazing.
If only they had made a CD compilation of all the songs sung that night.
