Miss Singapore Universe

For lack of interesting tv programmes last evening, my parents and I settled to watch Miss Singapore Universe on Channel 5. For me, it wasn't so much the strutting of stuff that i was looking forward to (even though my dad, mum and i were happily criticising every gal.... "aiyoh, this one teeth so ugly", "how can she even make it to the finals?!", "wah..smile so fake!", "look at her flabby thighs", "she look so old! how can she be 21?" you get the idea.... yes, we had nuthin better to do), it was the Q&A segment that always amuse me the most.

1stly, the questions were of such a broad range. From ridiculous questions like "Between Glen Ong and F.D, who would u choose to be your dancing partner", to "Do you think there should be laws restricting blog contents" and "what would you do if you were Prime Minister?".... some require a demonstration of the lady's intelligence, some just didnt have a chance at all. Seriously, how smartly can one answer brainless questions?!

2ndly, the final 5 had to answer the same question, i.e. "You have found your true love, but your mother violently objects to the relationship, what would you do?"

Honestly, can't they ask something more intellectual?! Like "what are your view of certain social behaviour/trends/current affairs"???

Anyway, Peggy's answer was the most impressive. I can't quote word for word, but she replied along these lines:

"I have inherited my mother's good taste in men, so I don't think she will object. (blogger's note: wah..that statement alone wld already won the heart of her mother, her man and of coz, her father...) But if she does object, i'd tell him to do what he did to me. Win her heart."

FWAH... i'm impressed. Because I believe that too. If a guy really loves a woman, he would go all out to win the hearts of the people she loves too. Even if it may take some time for them to realise his genuinity...for sincerity always works.
