IT Fair

went to the IT fair last night in search for a new laptop.

my aunt went there earlier to help me source out the stores and ask around, and got those flyers for me, so that by the time i rushed down, we could study them over dinner.

after walking around and speaking to the sales personnel, we've narrowed it down to 3 models. but in the end, i still walked out empty-handed. sigh, isn't life just full of difficult choices? :)

anyway, i saw my student Desmond at the fair... I knew he would surely be there (as with the past few years skipping classes to work at the IT fair), but i didn't expect to see him since the place was swamped. and least of all, to see him standing on a platform at the Epson booth, marketing this screen thing to a whole bunch of people standing around listening to him. Wow, i was quite impressed, coz he was quite eloquent in his sales pitch, so i wiggle my way through the crowd and stood there waiting to catch his eye. and when he did, i was greeted with a split second of surprise. hahaha.

anyway, all the sales people there are obviously students, so it was kinda fun teasing the guys who attended to me. especially at the harvey norman booth. this guy introduced his friend to attend to me, coz he said his friend has not clinch any deals for the past 2 days. it did not take me long to know why. he didn't know the product at all.

me: what's so gd about this model?

sales guy A: ermmmmmmmm...

me: huh? you don't know? dont know then read the phamplet and tell me about the specs la!

sales guy A: (still ermmming...)

me: omg. no wonder u have no sales leh. like that how to sell anything? anything also dunnoe!

sales guy A ran off to look for colleague.

sales guy B came to attend to me and explained about the model.

me to sales guy A: eh. look and learn leh.

haha, these young chaps are just like our i t e kids. haha.
