Morning:
Reading through some of my youths weekly reflections. One interesting statement stood out.
"Faith looks at God's possibilities, not man's impossibilities"
At macs. A mother asked her young son, " What do you want to eat?". The little boy hammed and hawed, not knowing what he should have for breakfast. So the mother said, " Nevermind, I'd decide for you." And when she brought the food back, he happily tucked into his hotcakes with maple syrup. :)
Sometimes my relationship with God is like that too. Sometimes we don't know what we want, or worse still, we think we know what we want, but fact of the matter is, we don't. But we're blessed as we have a God who knows us better than ourselves. He knows what we want, what we like, what we need. And He provides. In His timing.
Afternoon:
Hallelujah Oratorio Society singers came to render songs of praises during worship service today.
How long has it been since I've heard such beautiful choral singing and such worship in the sanctuary? I see the joy expressed in their voices, on their facial expressions. They sing from their hearts, in an outward expression of their love and conviction of what they are singing, not the words merely.
Of coz, their techniques were impressive. Round head tone, great articulation, singing in 1 voice. Singing in 1 voice is something not one person can accomplish by his/herself. It requires a team effort, coupled with humility of the individual. If just one person wants to stand out, he/she can break the whole "1-voice" effect and destroy the beauty of a choir. Being in a choir is about blending, about working together in unity to create one harmonious sound.
Their voices float overhead and filled the room.
It did indeed bring one to the recognition of the glory of God and in a desire to worship Him.
Here's a song from their CD which I bought yday.
