I claimed my off-in-lieu to mug for my test. Staying at home to study, eating instant noodles, watching a bit of Hi-Five, surfing the web, chatting on msn, afternoon nap... flashback: Uni days.
The test was ok. Thank God. The class were working together as a team (a nicer way to say that we were cheating. hehe). But it was fun. Makes the whole thing a whole lot less stressful. There was the picture conversation and story signing after that. That segment is where we are tested 1 by 1, so no way to cheat there. :P
Because i was the first to be tested, i got to leave the earliest too. So I headed down to Suntect EngWah to catch Spiderman 3! Oh, on the way, i bumped into an ex-SADeaf-Caroller, and later on, into Shawn. It was nice to see familiar faces on the streets.
Spiderman 3 was kinda cool. Harry Osborne is SOOOOOO cute. He has the nicest smile ever! haha. And boy, i loved the bad-boy-turned-good thingy. Anyway, what i loved most abt Spiderman is the animation, the whole flying, or rather, swinging about thing, the animation of the Sandman and stuff. Creates the action, the movement and causes one to feel like he/she is part of the setting. =)
Spiderman 3 to me portrays very strongly the theme of Friendship. and of coz, of making choices. The right choices.
By the time the movie ended, it was already almost 12midnight. I thought I'd take my chances and waited by the bus-stop to see if there were still buses running. Lo and behold, there was a 36 coming by! Heh. apparently that bus was heading back to the station and wasn't taking anymore passengers, but the nice bus-driver allowed me to board and sent me straight to my stop anyway! HOW NICE IS THAT?? :)
I had my own private, personal bus + bus driver! heh. we had a nice chat all the way back, with him sharing about his life, his past jobs and stuff.
When people think of Shir-leen, the words like "standoffish/dao/atas/icy/anti-social" are usually what they would use to describe me. But people who know me well, would know that I love talking to strangers. Even though i admit that I'm not usually the one who initiates a conversation, but if a stranger starts to talk to me on the street, I'd happily recipocate and continue the conversation. (unless of coz i sense he/she has ulterior motives) I still remember the times strangers have struck up conversations with me. An old lady at Long John Silver's, the uncle behind the counter at Burger King, the lady who sat next to me on the bus, the aunty behind the movie counter, and of coz, the countless taxi-drivers and now, even a bus driver! Talking to strangers somehow is quite liberating.... because you won't know if what he/she said is true, but you'd just give him/her the benefit of the doubt and enjoy the story of his/her life. :)
Anyway, before i alighted, he asked to shake my hand, and we parted on very friendly terms. Its nice to see some humanity and friendliness around I suppose.
Well, on the way home, I was thinking to myself what a good day it has been...and lo and behold, i returned home to find a card waiting for me! People who know me know i love receiving cards/emails/letters... but people who truly know me know i love receiving these even more thru' post and when what's written is filled with sincerity and not with those cliche words. When one can tell that the sender is interested to know what's up with my life, and when the sender shares about his/her own life.
Anyway, so i went to bed a happy girl. :)
