watched 2 movies (1 in cinema, 1 on tv) the last week which have incorporated the theme of "music and love"- Music and Lyrics & Phantom of the Opera.
Music and Lyrics is really a beautiful show. Perhaps it was the way they alluded to the concept of getting to know a person as hearing the music and appreciating the lyrics. The lyrics make up the soul of the person.. =) The humor, the romantic-banter sure made it a "feel-good" movie. The idea of a guy writing a song for his loved one has always been one of the top listed romantic action every girl wished from her beau. haha. I'm definitely gonna get the sound track.
Phantom of the Opera is yet another haunting show. The way music enchanted Christine to the Phantom. Of coz, who can deny the musical talent of Andrew Lloyd Webber...the haunting music, the display of emotions/feelings thru the lyrics and melody. I always feel a tinge of sadness whenever I watch Phantom...especially for the Phantom...
anyway, it's interesting how music and love always somehow are linked together.
Like how music is indispensible at weddings.
Like how when one experience a breakup, one would wallow in those "break-up" songs
Like how Christians render songs in expression of love to God.
Like how music is always essential in fairy-tales and disney movies.
