Appreciation Dinner

About 2 weeks ago, I handed out invitations to all the staff & student facilitators who have helped out in the Blaze camps for this year, inviting them to a personal appreciation dinner so as to express my thanks for all their effort, time and presence during those camps.

Really, without the help of the students assisting in all the crazy admin details, like calling up the participants, gettin them to pay up, hand in indemnity forms, informing them when/where to meet, etcetcetc, i'd prob have a headful of white hair now.

Without the presence of my colleagues who spent each 3D2N camp with me, I wouldn't have anyone to whine or complain to, or just generally share my angst and frustrations, to spend time together, or to help me make decisions. Really, they made each camp a whole lot more tolerable and fun.

So, on an informal note, I decided to give them a treat as an expression of my thanks.

(quite hard to tell who's staff and who's student hor. ;) )

Someone once asked me, "What do you spend your money on?"

Books, musicals, food, travel.

But above all. what I love spending my money on is time with friends and family.

Sure, money can't buy love, can't buy time, can't buy happiness.

But it can buy a meal that can allow me to spend time interacting with the people i'm having the meal with

It can buy me a trip, a holiday to share experiences and build memories with people I love.

It can buy me a ticket to a musical so that my family can enjoy a night-out together.

And for all these, money earned is always well-spent.
